UVH for vegetables
In vegetable growing, every healthy leaf counts. UVH suppresses diseases and keeps pests in check. An air flow sucks off the pests – without chemicals and without residues on the harvest.

Consumers increasingly demand chemical-free produce. UVH treatment can be carried out at night at any time between planting and harvest.
Pests usually sit on the underside of the leaves. An air flow moves the leaves so that the UVH reaches them there too. The pests are sucked off mechanically, without being able to develop resistance.
Pests in vegetable growing
- Whitefly
- Larvae and adult flies sit on the undersides of the leaves. The air flow sucks off the pests.
- Aphids
- The aphids are sucked off by the air flow. The remaining aphids hiding between the leaves are then eliminated by the UVH.
- Spider mites
- Spider mites like it dry and multiply more under dry conditions. UVH controls both the mites and their eggs. The added spray mist limits the conditions for further multiplication.

Use on the farm
The machine drives through the crop rows. Depending on the device and configuration, it directs the light onto the upper side of the leaves or, with the air flow, also onto the underside. To keep new pests from infesting the crops, treatments must be repeated at controlled intervals. UVH treatment makes the plants more robust, so they cope better with drought and any diseases.
