Protecting courgettes – without chemicals

For courgettes we recommend PATRIK UVH with air: an air flow opens the foliage to the UVH light and sucks off pests – without chemicals and with no residues.

PATRIK UVH with air

Courgettes form dense foliage. PATRIK UVH with air draws air through the plants: the leaves move, the UVH light also gets behind them, and insects that fly up, such as whiteflies, are sucked off and crushed in the fan. Without chemicals.

Our devices can be used against these pests and diseases

  • Powdery mildew Podosphaera xanthii

White, powdery coating first on the upper side of the leaves, later also on leaf stalks and stems. Infected leaves turn yellow and die, and the plant bears less fruit.

  • Melon aphid Aphis gossypii

Small dark-green aphids on the undersides of the leaves. The leaves curl, honeydew soils the plant, and the aphids transmit cucumber mosaic virus.

  • Glasshouse whitefly Trialeurodes vaporariorum

Small white flies that take off when the plant is touched. The larvae sit on the undersides of the leaves and excrete sticky honeydew on which sooty mould grows.

  • Two-spotted spider mite Tetranychus urticae

Fine pale speckles on the upper side of the leaves, which later turn yellow or bronze. Fine webbing on the underside. In warm, dry weather the mites multiply very fast.
