Protecting blackberries – without chemicals

For blackberries we recommend PATRIK UVH with air: an air flow opens the foliage to the UVH light and sucks off pests – without chemicals and with no residues.

PATRIK UVH with air

Blackberries form dense foliage. PATRIK UVH with air draws air through the plants: the leaves move, the UVH light also gets behind them, and insects that fly up are sucked off and crushed in the fan. Without chemicals.

Our devices can be used against these pests and diseases

  • Blackberry aphid Macrosiphum funestum

Aphids on young shoots and leaf stalks. They suck sap, and honeydew soils leaves and fruit.

  • Powdery mildew Podosphaera aphanis

White, powdery coating on leaves, flowers and fruit. The leaves curl, infected fruit stays small and can no longer be sold.

  • Two-spotted spider mite Tetranychus urticae

Fine pale speckles on the upper side of the leaves, which later turn yellow or bronze. Fine webbing on the underside. In warm, dry weather the mites multiply very fast.

  • Grey mould Botrytis cinerea

Grey, dusty fungal growth on flowers and fruit. Infected fruit turns soft and rots, often before harvest. Wet weather and dense foliage strongly favour it.
